The Year 2026 is Coming!!!

The clock of time continues without stopping.

I bow in gratitude to ‘The Year 2025’ for all it gave us, it gave me, despite the difficulties and disappointments we all may have experienced (war, conflict, instability, fear, poverty, marginalization…).

And, I welcome with open arms ‘The Year 2026’.

When I was a child, I was often told by my elders that there was an end to life on Planet Earth: ‘The Year 2000’ was that frontier. At that very young age, such a year seemed so far away! And, think for just a moment that we have already gone forward for more than a quarter of a century. Not a trivial happening.

What I have experienced during this span of time is that we are to be united to face the increased complexities of daily life on the planet.

For the first time in human history, we live in a collective humanity and in a world without frontiers. But we have not yet mastered the power of togetherness. We have not self-realized the path of Inter-Being, me and the other, together as one single life entity. And this togetherness includes all human beings, sentient beings, and Mother Nature.

We are inseparable manifestations of life.

Today, one thing is certain: we have a collective shared future.

The greatest challenge we face today is to find a form of planetary livelihood beneficial to all forms of life. I believe it is possible. It is not just a dream or a naïve proposition. All it requires is the continuous refinement of our minds and a powerful form of individual and collective form of governance. The presence of planetary public goods is more relevant than ever before (climate change, biodiversity depletion, pollution of the oceans and rivers, instability and insecurity, war and conflict, and more). Managing our Commons is the key to a harmonious, stable, and successful human engagement.

We confront major decisions as a collective. Whether we will make them or not is the big question. Examples are

(i) a consensus over a new social doctrine and a social ethics to be able to live together in peace and prosperity;

(ii) a major change in global institutions and organizations so that we are duly represented as citizens of the world and participate in the construction of our own collective and shared destiny;

(iii) a powerful and meaningful spiritual inner collective transformation and development so that we are bonded through love, compassion, solidarity, cooperation, peace…;

(iv) a very significant shift in priorities and actions to benefit those who have been left behind, and are and have been disregarded in the past (minorities, women, children, elders); and

(v) a real commitment to create the incentives and the enabling environment for a new path of humanity, which will establish an interdependent balance among all expressions of life.

All that we do shall eliminate all existing forms of suffering.

It is imperative to protect creation and leave for all future generations a better and truly sustainable form of life. I am committed to doing so, and I hope you are too. It will not be easy, but it is mandatory.

War will not bring peace.

More consumption will not bring true happiness.

More personal benefits will not necessarily bring collective-wide benefits.

Let us stop all forms of toxicity.

Let us stop all forms of conflict.

Let us stop all forms of ecological destruction.

Let us stop all forms of violations of rights.

That 2026 marks a turning point in the history of humanity, and the truly brave people have the courage and commitment to construct a new future for all.

I am ready to participate.

I am ready to serve.

I am ready to act.

Are you?

Would you?

The Year 2026’ is welcome.

A very happy New Year to all of you.

The moment is now!
